5 Unforgettable Techniques to Boost Your Memory

Do you have a hard time remembering certain things ? We all do ! Luckily, there are certain things you can do to help boost your memory.

Your memory has no limits. Throughout your life, your brain is able to store all types of information. However, age, fatigue, or even hectic periods, can affect your memory. Suddenly, you might feel like you’re having trouble remembering certain things like where you parked your car or where you placed your keys. Luckily, there are certain techniques you can use that can help strengthen your memory.

  1. Write it down

It can sometimes be difficult to memorize a lesson or information by heart. What can help is rewriting in your own words what you need to remember and structuring it logically. Writing things down helps visualize the information and allows the brain to process it in a way that’s easier to remember.

  1. Keep questioning

Have you ever felt like when you read a news article or a complex text, you have a hard time retaining anything? This happens to many of us. Try turning what you just read into questions. This will force you to understand the subject in more detail and therefore allow the information to be better assimilated by your brain.

  1. Visualize things

Put your imagination at the forefront and try turning a text or information into symbols (make diagrams, drawings, bubbles to link ideas). This can help you associate images to ideas, which can help you memorize things more easily.

  1. Tell a story

If you are finding it difficult to visualize things, you can script them. By creating a story and frames to the information you need to remember, you make it more captivating and therefore easier for you to remember.

  1. Supplement with beneficial nutrients

Problems with cognition or memory performance can have many underlying causes. Sometimes this may be related to dietary habits, inadequate sleep, or even stressful or traumatic events. The techniques mentioned are a great way to start. However, for long term effects, beneficial brain boosting nutrients can be advantageous. At New Nordic, we believe in supplementing with Clear BrainTM, which combines walnut extract with extracts from ginkgo, green tea and a complex of B vitamins that all work to support brain health by helping enhance cognitive and memory performance.
